Pathworking
The
Inner Magical Journey
What is it?
Pathworking
is a self-induced inner journey between the worlds of the known and the
unknown. Its purpose is to gain magical instruction, a discovery that
will impress in such a way upon the impressionable mind to bring about change
as a result of insights and revelations. It is an exercise of the will, whereby
the mind focuses its power on an objective or an idea. As a result of
visualisation and focus on a particular point, the doors of the inner planes open
up and paths can be explored and planned to create whatever is required.
In a nutshell… it's mind Magic!
Where does it come from?
Pathworkings have an ancient history. They were used as training methods
as far back as the ancient cave paintings, drawn as a story in picture form of
a daydream as a successful hunt followed by a celebration of the tribe for
example.
The therapeutoi of ancient Greece and the healer priests used waking dreams and
pathworkings as a means of healing. In Egypt, they were used by those trained in
the art to guide the dying across the borders between the worlds with carefully
chosen visions. Waking dreams inspired the early prophets, and Palaeolithic
hunters and shamans drew their hopes and wishes on the walls of caves deep in
the earth, seeking to influence the future. But many of these methods fell into disuse when the early church began its
vendetta against the old ways.
For many years, they were a closely guarded secret within Occult Schools and
those trained in the Mysteries - until about thirty years ago - when they were
made available to a wider audience.
The cat was out of the bag!
We see Pathworkings in fairy
tales, folklore, nursery rhymes and indeed mythology is full of them. When
psychology became part of the modern world these teachings re-emerged in the
form of guided meditations, and nowadays are used in all forms of holistic
therapy and as a means of personal and spiritual development. The Gods that
humanity had created for itself in ancient times gained a new lease of life and
became known as Archetypes and the worlds which they inhabited was the
Unconscious Mind. The inner planes have
never been more accessible!
How does it work?
They accomplish their work through the medium of the imagination and can
and do cause physical effects in the everyday world, which is the main reason
why they were held in secret for so long. With commitment and dedication, the
imaginative faculty can be trained to achieve whatever is desired…
The brain cannot tell the difference between a real image and a projected one,
therefore the journey we take in our mind can be as real to us as our daily
walk. The subconscious mind is a
powerful reality and on the inner planes, we admit no barriers and use the same
senses we have in the physical world. If we believe in the power of this unseen
world we can use its finer matter to mould and change the physical world and
develop our own unseen powers at the same time.
Training in the art of Pathworking can change your life, heal, guide and teach
you. You can realise and fulfil your potential as a creative being and make
important changes…if you want to!
When to Pathwork?
Everybody, to some degree, has a talent for Pathworking. We all have
imagination, we all daydream and we are all creative. It is how we use these
abilities that give them power.
To use Pathworking to cause events,
you must be specific about what you want and you will need to develop certain
powers first:
- Concentration
- Discipline
- Visualization
We are made of and surrounded by energy and matter. This substance is
highly impressionable and it will take the form, shape or pattern of whatever
hits it hard enough. Thought is the first thing it comes into contact with,
therefore everything begins with thought.
To know this is the first step on your path and is where the real work
begins.
